Microsoft Force User To Use IE in Windows

EC (European Commission) will soon force PC users to choose between Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and other browsers when they set up a new computer.

EC policy is then will be included in the Statement of Objections made in this month, that Microsoft entered in the rule EC competition law, including IE in Windows, a new rule that prevents the use of other browsers on the computer user than the Internet Explorer (IE). Microsoft also reminded shareholder up to the Commission’s rules, based on observation of Windows sales in the EU.

According to Microsoft, the EC rules can also ask for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) to distribute rival browsers from Microsoft to compete with IE on the PC user. To that end, Microsoft will disable Internet Exlorer software code, if the user selected other browser. Microsoft really does not specify whether that referred to the browser, but Microsoft appears to attempt to protect the failure of IE when a user opens the application or use the site with their default browser, which is in the Windows operating system.

Meanwhile, the EC Statement of Objections and the investigation of Microsoft over the use of IE in Windows. This never gets complaints from rivalnya, Opera Software in January 2008. Opera justify even without evidence that Microsoft still maintains its position of dominance limit the use of a browser in Windows and IE does not follow web protocol.
